Are you a passionate about transforming the lives of women and girls? A unique opportunity to make a game changing contribution to a major global movement has arisen for a highly skilled, visionary individual.
Bringing an end to Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in one generation is now a growing reality. The Girl Generation: Together to End FGM is a social change communications programme, which aims to accelerate social change in countries most affected by FGM across the African continent.
The Girl Generation is looking for an exceptional individual to be the programme’s Global Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that The Girl Generation supports the African-led movement to end FGM by catalysing social change in some of the most affected countries across the African continent. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of efforts to transform the lives of millions of girls across the African continent and beyond, and will have unparalleled opportunities to influence, inspire and motivate others, both on the global stage and in some of the most affected countries in Africa.
You will have strong technical expertise in the field of FGM or a closely related area such as women and girls’ rights, or reproductive and sexual health. You will ideally have expertise in strategically deploying communications approaches for social change. You will also have a demonstrable track record of bringing about transformational change in challenging environments, and relating to complex and sensitive issues. A highly collaborative and diplomatic individual, you will have an ability to forge partnerships and form strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
