Career Opportunities at Mt. Kenya University

  • Mount Kenya University is a Chartered University operating as a non-profit making institution of higher learning in East Africa wishes to recruit qualified candidates to fill the following positions.University Counselor
    Duties and Responsibilities
  • Promote the students welfare in terms of psychological, emotional, social and mental well-being.
  • Provide career guidance and placement services in collaboration with academic departments.
  • Organize and coordinate public lecturers for students and staff.
  • Organize and implement seminars and workshops for the enhancement of personal growth and development for students and staff.
  • Implement guidance and counselling policies within the university.
  • Liaise with other counselling organizations to enhance service provision.
  • Provide information for planning and budgeting for guidance and counselling programmes.
  • Offer extension services in collaboration with the social welfare departments.
  • Mediate between the external community and the university in order to foster healthy relationships.
  • Liaise with the dean of students and any other relevant office for the well-being of the institution.
  • Performing any other duty that may be assigned to you from time to time by the dean of students.Qualifications
  • Master’s in Counselling.
  • Bachelor’s degree in counselling.
  • Candidates must be a member of Kenya Counselling and Psychology Association and have a practicing certificate.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in counselling.Application Procedure
