Mount Kenya University is a Chartered University operating as a non-profit making institution of higher learning in East Africa wishes to recruit qualified candidates to fill the following positions.University Counselor
Duties and Responsibilities
Promote the students welfare in terms of psychological, emotional, social and mental well-being.
Provide career guidance and placement services in collaboration with academic departments.
Organize and coordinate public lecturers for students and staff.
Organize and implement seminars and workshops for the enhancement of personal growth and development for students and staff.
Implement guidance and counselling policies within the university.
Liaise with other counselling organizations to enhance service provision.
Provide information for planning and budgeting for guidance and counselling programmes.
Offer extension services in collaboration with the social welfare departments.
Mediate between the external community and the university in order to foster healthy relationships.
Liaise with the dean of students and any other relevant office for the well-being of the institution.
Performing any other duty that may be assigned to you from time to time by the dean of students.Qualifications
Master’s in Counselling.
Bachelor’s degree in counselling.
Candidates must be a member of Kenya Counselling and Psychology Association and have a practicing certificate.
A minimum of five years’ experience in counselling.Application Procedure
