Peace for Africa and Economic Development (PAD)
PAD (www.padinst.org/) is a young, dynamic organization working to empower youth as catalysts
for social change through economic empowerment and community leadership. We identify groups
of vulnerable young women and men with a micro-enterprise and a social impact activity and help
them scale. Business growth provides youth with sustainable livelihoods to reverse incentives for
violence, while increased community engagement through the social impact activity spreads the
benefit outwards. We believe in a “business plus” approach, recognizing that holistic solutions to
peace and community development require economic empowerment, strong leadership, and
community dialogue.
Job Description

Communications Intern will work closely with PAD’s Executive Director and programs teams to
collect and share stories from the field, write external donor reports, update the PAD website, and
design communications materials. The duration of the position will be for six months with possible
extension; as PAD is a small and growing organization, there will be opportunities for career
advancement pending high performance.
