****JOB SUMMARY & PURPOSE****:
In consultation with the Project manager, the Field Officer will oversee sensitization, recruitment and appropriate training of youth groups to enhance agricultural production and while promoting the general livelihood of target households. He/She will train participating youth groups on financial inclusion and maintain a proper Savings Group MIS database.
The FO will monitor, maintain records and prepare progress reports as and when required.
In addition the FO will represent the project in respective area of jurisdiction.
****RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS****:
****R1****. ****Mobilize Community towards project activities.****
Task 1: Create awareness creation on project goal, objectives and expected outputs.
Task 2: Facilitate development of community structures for managing the implementation of project activities.
Task 3: Facilitate recruitment of participant youth groups
****R2:****Training of Community
Task 1: Train participating youth groups in good agricultural practice to enhance production and other identified enterprises.
Task 2: Train participating youth groups on marketing and promotion of youth products.
Task 3. Facilitate training in crop utilization to enhance dietary change aimed at enhancing the nutrition of participating households
Task4. Facilitate institutional development of community institutions to enhance collective action and negotiation.
Task 5: Facilitate training of participating youth groups on Savings Groups methodology, Financial education and enterprise development.
****R3****: ****Monitoring of Project activities and reporting****
****Task 1:**** Facilitate joint planning and review meetings with the participating youth groups.
****Task 2****: Maintain appropriate data on project implementation as per the project monitoring and evaluation plan.
****Task 3:****Compile reports as and when necessary.
****R4:****Management of Project Resources
****Task 1:**** Facilitate procurement planning of inputs to ensure adequate and timely provision to participating households.
****Task 2:****Facilitate equitable distribution of inputs to target households
****Task 3:**** Undertake proper maintenance and use assigned resources
****AUTHORITY****:
  1. Spending Authority: Per Financial and Procurement policies, none.
  2. Supervision: None
  3. Decision Making: schedule of community activities

****WORKING CONDITIONS****:
  1. Operate from own house, with scheduled reporting to the project office.
  2. Use motorcycle for transportation
  3. Cold and wet field conditions
****QUALIFICATIONS****:
  1. Education: Diploma in Agriculture / Certificate in Agriculture
  2. Experience in community development and management
a) Certificate holders: at least 8 years
b) Diploma holders : At least 5 years
  1. Value chain experience with Baby corn ,Sugar snaps and French beans preferred
  2. Competencies: Community mobilization and training, understanding of farm livelihood
  3. Valid motorcycle rider’s license
