Internship opportunity – Program manager, Kakuma refugee camp, Kenya
Contract term: 8 months

Starting date: June or July 2015
Place:Kakuma refugee camp, Kenya.
IsraAID, an Israeli international humanitarian aid organization is looking for a program coordinatorand trainer in the field of water sanitation and hygiene.
IsraAID, an Israel-based humanitarian aid agency, is looking for a project coordinator to assist in the management and implementation of a water and sanitation training program in Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya.
The position offers an exciting opportunity to get hands-on experience in non-profit project management in Africa and lead innovative grass-roots activities in the field.
The job requires relocation to Kakuma, Kenya.
Minimum qualifications:
  1. Advanced educational background in science and/or water/environmental/agricultural engineering/Water technician diploma.
  2. Proved experience in teaching/facilitation
  3. Excellent English, both written and oral.
  4. Strong interpersonal and team skills, management experience preferred.
Preferred qualifications:
  1. Agricultural background
  2. Experience working in non-profit organizations.
  3. Experience working in the international sphere.
  4. Experience working/volunteering in developing countries
The position includes but not limited to:
  1. Coordinating the implementation of training programs in the field of Water, sanitation and hygiene in a refugee camp in Kenya in tandem with IsraAID's Kakuma Programs Director and Kenya Country Director.
  2. Leading the program's technical team in expertise and vision
  3. Development of technical training programs.
  4. Implementing training programs in collaboration with local staff.
  5. Managing logistics, budgets, and general administration of a technical training project.
  6. Representing IsraAID at meetings with government, community members, NGOs and the UN.
  7. Monitoring, evaluation and reporting on all IsraAID WASH projects.
Internship Conditions:
  1. Relocating to Kakuma refugee camp, Kenya.
  2. IsraAID will cover living expenses while in Kenya including flights, fully equipped accommodation, transportation, medical expenses related to the internship and meals.
  3. 5 working days weekly. 5 days off every 8 weeks.
