The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is the UN headquarters in Africa and the representative office of the Secretary-General. We support programme implementation of the
United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UN Human Settlements Programme (UNHABITAT) globally, as well as other UN offices in Kenya, by providing administrative, conference and information services (www.unon.org). This post is located at
UNON, Budget and Financial Management Service (BFMS) and is under the direct supervision of the Chief of Accounts Section.

Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business administration, finance, accounting or related field.A first university degree with a combination of two years professional and academic qualifications may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree. Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent is desirable.

A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible professional experience in administration, finance, accounting, human resources management or related field. Experience of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) is required; Participation in preparation for or implementation of an ERP is an added advantage.

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position fluency in oral and written English is required. Working knowledge of another UN language is desirable.
