The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI – formerly the Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative) was established in 2002 to increase access to care and treatment to people living with HIV/AIDS and to strengthen health systems in resource-poor countries. Over the past few years, CHAI has expanded the scope to include access to high-quality treatment for malaria, new vaccines and essential treatments for common childhood illnesses such as diarrhoea and pneumonia. CHAI has also increasingly supported governments build the capacity required for high-quality care and treatment programs. Currently, CHAI partners with governments in more than 25 countries while more than 70 countries directly benefit from the low-priced drugs and diagnostic test agreements that CHAI has negotiated.
Responsibilities:
- Support the MOH to improve forecasting and supply chain management by utilizing a web-based supply planning tool and facility-level consumption and stock status data available through DHIS 2
- Support the development of a web-based Dashboard that links HR and DHIS 2 data.
- Build capacity of county pharmacists to use the web-based Dashboard for planning trainings, quantifying and ordering commodities, and troubleshooting facility-level challenges related to implant service provision
- Support county governments to develop strong family planning work plans with targets for LARC access and service delivery coverageCost plans and work with county to develop robust budgets from multiple sources, including county funds as well as CHAI and other partner support
- Support county FP coordinator to organize stakeholder efforts in line with county plan and coordinate partner activities
- Improve coordination with NGO outreach services at national and county level to improve insight into multiple service delivery channels and ensure that sustainable public sector service delivery capacity is built
- Build capacity of county FP Coordinators to use the web-based Dashboard for planning trainings, troubleshooting facility-level challenges related to implant service provision, and monitoring progress toward targets
- Build capacity of county pharmacists to use the web-based Dashboard for quantifying and ordering commodities, and troubleshooting facility-level supply chain challenges such as stock outs
- Provide ongoing logistics support and capacity building to county governments by establishing quantification working groups and supporting supply chain management
- Provide management support to help counties and sub-counties coordinate planned service delivery improvements, such as county-led supervision, mentoring, and on-the-job training at high volume facilities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and at least 2 years work experience within a demanding and fast-paced environment
- Proven record of effective program coordination, planning, and strategy development, preferably in reproductive health
Strong organizational skills- Excellent problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English, including the ability to prepare compelling presentations
- Strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills, and ability to build strong professional relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to handle multiple work streams in parallel, set priorities, and work independently with limited supervision
- Experience with applied quantitative data analysis and use of data for decision-making and program planning
- Self-motivated and able to work under pressure
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Willingness to travel domestically
