The EWCA Regional Development Centre works with a range of partners across Africa to deliver programming in a number of key areas: HIV/AIDS & health; income security & livelihoods; emergency response & DRR and rights of older people.
HelpAge Kenya is now looking for a Regional Programme Manager - Emergency and Resilience to develop and manage the emergency and the resilience programmes in East, West and Central Africa region, advising and supporting partners/affiliates and Country Programmes, advocating and influencing emergency response resources, policies and programmes by governments, donors and humanitarian organisations in the region, specifically to include the needs of older people.
The post-holder will develop and manage the emergency and the resilience programmes, advising and supporting partners/affiliates and Country Programmes, advocating and influencing emergency response resources, policies and programmes by governments, donors and humanitarian organisations in the region to specifically include the needs of older people.
S/he will have a degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies or related field, significant technical and managerial experience in programme design, implementation and monitoring of substantial humanitarian assistance programmes in Africa. S/he should have technical understanding of key issues of humanitarian protection, donor and beneficiary accountability frameworks, communication and advocacy. Ability to travel at short notice to difficult environments is essential to this post
