The practice is currently looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional to take up the position of Director, Banking.

As a Director, you will be a valuable resource in our Financial Services team, your main responsibility will be to:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Economics or equivalent.
- Provide leadership in the relevant area of Financial Services Industry, through the development and implementation of appropriate strategies, policies and practices which are consistent with the vision and strategic plans of the Firm.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with clients while striving to actively stay informed of market trends, performance drivers and emerging technical and industry developments.
- Lead business development work of new and existing clients through sustained market efforts, including the preparation of bids and proposals and supporting the execution of the same.
- Connect our capabilities and offerings to the banking Industry issues and opportunities. Building new solutions including methodologies and business development approaches and tools to support industry projects.
- Be recognised as the pre-eminent authority in the field of banking and actively take the lead in the development and sharing of market-valued intellectual capital.
- Ensure that all assignments are conducted in accordance with the Firm’s standard procedures and methodologies and all client information is treated with utmost confidentiality.
- Understand and anticipate client needs based on a strong understanding of retail banking and its associated processes.
- Guide teams in selecting and applying the most appropriate tools, techniques and approaches to deliver client work.
- Promote interdepartmental collaboration in order to enhance service delivery to clients guided by the Deloitte ‘As One’ Strategy.
- Understand and convey the Deloitte Africa and global value proposition for financial services industry to key stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- A Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Economics or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Commerce, Accounting, Economics or equivalent.
- 10-15 years of experience, 5 of which should be at senior management level (e.g. Business Unit Leader) involving demonstrated interaction at Board level.
- Experience working at senior level in a Bank. Experience in advisory firm delivering services for Financial Services Industry is an added advantage.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of the banking industry and market; including distribution channels, middle, or back office operations, products and services.
- Experience in one or more of the following; Strategy, Financial and Regulatory Reporting, Risk Management, Project Management, Banking Operations, Change Management, Business Process Re-engineering, and Organizational Re-design.
- Exceptional communicator with the ability to articulate complex ideas (oral and written) to all levels of an organization and effectively lead and manage all key stakeholders.
- Well-developed computer user skills.
- The ability or willingness to contribute to business development, through support bids for new business.
- Excellent capability to independently and proactively service multiple clients and effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Proven abilities in managerial and leadership skills as well as working in teams and across functions.
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
