Position:’ FEED’ Dagoretti Center - Facility Manager
Reporting to: Regional Director
Purpose of Job:
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of FEED - Dagoretti facility, premises care, support for the children and for the efficient and effective running of the facility by managing all units at the facility.
Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership for all the section supervisors in ensuring the facility runs efficiently in fulfilling the organizations core objectives. • Plan and organize facility activities for smooth running. • Responsible for all staffing needs for the facility in liaison with the section supervisors. • Spearhead development of relevant policies and procedures to ensure that the facility runs efficiently. • Set and evaluate departmental goals and strategies to increase productivity. • Supervision of all the facility units (social work, rehab, kitchen, clinic, laundry and stores). • Coordinate all the facility activities with relevant sections. • Manage the calendar and plan the activities of the facility in line with the other related units outside the center (Sheltered Accommodation Project). • Ensure adherence of the facility to government regulation and compliance. • Prepare and report on departmental budgets for all the facility sections, distribution anticipated needs and monitor spending. • Advise and recommend to the Management possible financial objectives and income generating avenues for the facility. • Oversee the registration and official compliance of the facility government requirements • Prepare funding proposals for donor consideration for the facility.
• Develop programs/practices that ensure protection and good maintenance of facility assets. • Manage the staff Performance within the department and sections • Promote, protect and advocate for children’s rights within and outside the facility. • Uphold high living/service standards of the residential children.
Required Qualifications
• Degree in Business Management or Masters in Business Administration will be an advantage • At least five years’ experience in institutional management • Good interpersonal and people management skills • Excellent computer skills (proficiency in office suite) • Excellent communicator (oral and written), • Good planning and organizing skills with ability to work independently under minimum supervision. • High level of integrity, able to work with and support cross technical teams. • An excellent team player • Good knowledge of children rights. • Relevant Financial and Human Resource management skills.
