Indepth Research Services - IRES is an international training / capacity building and consultancy organization offering technical training and education services designed for individuals, and organizations working in the agriculture, climate change and environment; disaster management; education; food and nutrition; health; humanitarian relief; logistics and telecommunication; recovery and reconstruction; safety and security; water sanitation and hygiene sectors
Since commencing our operations in 2003, we have continued to provide high quality, cost effective service to our clients in Africa and around the Globe
We are currently seeking suitable candidates to fill in position(s) as “Business Development Officers- BDOs”
BDOs are expected to Develop in-depth knowledge about business development practices, marketing activities, prospective clients and industry trends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical proposal development: Maintaining and growing the company’s current leadership position amongst our current clients and potential clients across markets by developing winning proposals.
Prospective Client and Business Development related Engagements: includes but not limited to: Leading the prospecting for new clients and subsequent engagements with them, carrying out other related initial and follow-up meetings as necessary, ensuring regular, timely and professional follow-ups.
BDO’s are expected to Develop creative strategies to retain the clients including responding to the client queries regarding the products in a timely fashion.
Pitching IRES to prospective clients (our Products/services/Trainings): BDOs are expected to deliver any relevant sales / business-case presentations for various prospective clients alongside the GM/CEO.
Market Expansion Administration: Support IRES’s processes towards establishing new offices in new markets were opportunities arise.
Product & Service Innovation: The BDOs along will work alongside the IRES management to develop/ innovate and package new products and services to be offered by the organization.
Assist in company’s branding and media communication activities such as press releases, advertisements, marketing collaterals, and website.
Support processes leading to business growth for the organization through analysis and providing appropriate recommendations.
Prepare the annual marketing budget and track the expenses against the budget.
Maintain a knowledge repository of clients, referrals, RFPs, prospects and presentations.
Develop strong customer relationships in order to generate high volume of prospective clients.
Manage customer calls and appointments effectively for new opportunities.
Participate in industry forums, client discussions, and conferences as a representative of the organization.
Determine cross-selling opportunities among different offices.
Supervise the client relationship management database and utilize it to manage customer contacts and mailing lists.Academic Qualifications:
A minimum of BSc in Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Econometrics or Agricultural Economics.
Certification in use of Statistical software such as STATA, SPSS, R.
Certification in GIS and Remote Sensing.
Certification in Monitoring and Evaluation.
Certificate in Sales and Marketing, Customer Service and Client Relations.
Minimum of 3 years working experience one of which should be in sales and marketing related position.
A Masters degree in either Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, GIS and Remote Sensing, Agriculture, and Agriculture Economics will be an added advantage.
Highly proficient with computers, Internet, CRMs, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft OutlookSkills Required
Experience working in the NGO sector
Ability to use own initiative and pay close attention to detail.
Efficient, highly effective work-ethic: ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to learn quickly.
Ability to manage multiple accounts (20+) at any one time, with the ability to multi-task
Ability to proactively seek out new business opportunities with clients as well as other potential companies and agencies to expand IRES’s leadership and impact throughout the region.
Lead the writing of proposals with the business development team for recommended advisory support.
Ability to write concept papers, technical proposals, marketing materials, presentations, and relevant materials
Ability to keep abreast of relevant Requests for Proposals-RFPs and ensure knowledge of IRES activity throughout the region
Ability to think strategically and operationally
Ability to work well individually, within a team, and leading a team to deliver exceptional results
Ability to manage and meet deadlines and operate within set budgets
Idealistic, Hands on and high problem solving abilities
Dedication to the high levels of integrity and ethical standards
Showcase enthusiasm and a passion for Training and capacity building, Statistics, GIS, sustainable development,; have experience in Research, Data Management and Analysis, Monitoring and Evaluation, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, Agriculture, ethical and responsible business, general consulting or other related fields.
Strong communication skills in all forms including written, oral, email, telephone, and presentation.
Ability to think with an entrepreneurial mind, providing innovative insights to continue to develop and catapult IRES’s reputation, standing as a leading consultancy firm in the regionRemuneration: Kshs. 50,000
