She/he will play a leading role in managing UNICEF’s country wide presence on a wide range of social media platforms and guiding wider digital editorial processes.
She/he will regularly feedback to colleagues in country offices on content, style and storytelling.
They will also support – and in some cases lead on – the creation and coordination of social media strategies and campaigns, monitoring and analysis, and moderation of platforms.

Working under the supervision of the Regional Chief of Communications for Easter & Southern Africa, the Social Media consultant will have plenty of opportunities to step up and drive projects, and will serve as one of UNICEF’s key representatives in its regional digital outreach.

Minimum requirements and competencies:
• Bachelor's Degree in social science, marketing, journalism, international affairs or communications, or other related field.
• 3+ years’ experience working on social media, digital marketing or editorial for a global company, publishing outlet, or NGO.

• Adept at using a wide range of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Pinterest.
• Experience in the Eastern & Southern Africa region.

• Strong awareness of social media communication behaviors in Eastern & Southern Africa.
• Consistently achieves high-level results, managing and delivering projects on-time.
