Vacancy: Regional Co-ordinator
Background: CfBT Education Trust is implementing a four year project called Wasichana Wote Wasome (WWW – ‘Let All Girls Learn’).
WWW is a DfID funded project that aims at improving school enrolment, retention, attendance and learning outcomes for 133,500 marginalised girls in Kenya.
The project works in 500 primary schools and the communities they serve in two contexts: Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) and urban slums in eight counties namely: Kilifi, Kwale, Tana River, Marsabit, Samburu, Turkana, Mombasa and Nairobi.
The project intends to achieve her objectives by driving change in four dimensions: the community, the home, the school and the girl herself.
The project uses a holistic, integrated approach which combines interventions across the four dimensions in order to overcome the complex barriers to girls’ education in these two environments.
CfBT wishes to recruit for the position of a Regional coordinator, Wasichana Wote Wasome project to be based in Turkana County.
Core Responsibilities
The Regional Co-ordinator will be based in the field and will be responsible for coordinating planning and managing implementation of project activities in Turkana County.
The incumbent will be responsible for supervision and implementation of the teacher coaching activities in three sub-counties of Turkana County.
Specific tasks under teacher coaching shall include:
The Regional coordinator shall also lead in planning, managing and coordinating other project components in Turkana county to ensure synergy across project components; backstopping role, supporting field officers & coaches with field based operational issues and providing field based reports to the Project Director;
S/he shall liaise and represent the project including with government particularly (MoEST, TSC) and other stakeholders;
