The Jomo Kenyatta Foundation (JKF) was incorporated in 1966 as a Company limited by guarantee.
The core business of the Foundation is publishing of educational and general materials and expending its profits on a scholarships programme for bright but needy students in public secondary schools.
The Foundation seeks to fill the position of Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities
Providing leadership in the implementation and evaluation of corporate strategic plans and policy.
Managing the day-to-day operations of the Company and overseeing legal, regulatory and statutory requirements.
Guiding Management and advising the Board on opportunities for investment and business growth.
Developing of and recommending to the Board the short, medium and long term strategies, business plans and annual operating budgets to achieve corporate objectives.
Maintaining a work environment suitable for attracting, developing and retaining a dynamic workforce.
Establishing proper internal monitoring and control systems.
Building relevant organizational capacity to deliver on strategy by guiding, directing and evaluating the work of other senior executives within the organization.
Creating partnerships and linkages at the highest level with key stakeholders to enhance JKF’s corporate image.
Qualifications and Experience
Be a Kenyan citizen.
Holder of at least a Master’s degree from a recognized University in Kenya.
At least lo years’ experience in management with at least five years in a senior management position.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict management skills.
Proven leadership ability and integrity at senior management level.
Results oriented, self-driven and ability to offer leadership to a diverse team.
Compliance with Chapter 6 of the Kenya Constitution, 2010.
Holder of full professional qualification in a relevant field of specialization.
Experience in a commercial entity and publishing industry will be an added advantage.
