Our client Bank of Africa- Kenya (BOA) is a commercial bank providing banking products and services to Corporate, SMEs and Retail clients. The Bank commenced operations in Kenya in July 2004, after acquiring the Kenyan branch of Credit Agricole and currently has 34 branches across the country. The Bank belongs to a Group network that is present in 17 countries and the Group’s Head Office is based in Senegal.To support its objectives of transformation, growth, expansion and sustained profitability, BOA is looking to recruit a high caliber, strategic, results oriented, performance driven, conscientious and passionate individual, to fill the position of Managing Director. The Managing Director will report to the Board and will be responsible for implementing the overall business strategy and ensuring the bank meets its strategic objectives.
Roles & Responsibilities
•Lead the development and implementation of the strategic plans to enhance profitability and shareholder value;•Provide advice to the Board on the Bank’s performance;
•Ensure continuous improvement in the quality and value of services and product offerings;
•Cultivate a productivity culture that promotes ethical practices and sound corporate governance;
•Manage the banks managerial, financial and operating systems, procedures and controls to ensure that they are professional, workable and sustainable;
•Provide strategic direction on new investments, business opportunities and change initiatives;
•Nurture the Bank’s human resource and ensure appropriate management structures and policies are developed and implemented;
•Ensure relationship management and network with local and global business partners, public or private institutions and shareholders; and
•Provide proactive public relations and enhance the Bank’s corporate image.
Requirements
•An Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration or related from a reputable institution;•An MBA degree or relevant postgraduate qualification;
•A relevant professional qualification is a pre-requisite;
•A minimum of 15 years’ experience with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
•Experience working in a top tier bank or financial institution is desirable; and
•Strong experience in leading corporate and retail teams with a proven record growth.
