The Department of Business and Economics, University of Southern Denmark in Odense, invites applications for a vacant position as post.doc. for a period of 2 years. Employment will cease without further notice at the end of the period.
The position is linked to the research project ‘FAIRCARE: Fair and efficient health care under tight budgets’. The aim of the FAIRCARE program is to improve the scientific understanding of the nature of socio-economic inequalities in health, its trends and causes, and how to integrate concerns for equity, acceptability and legitimacy with efficiency objectives in a health system under increasing financial strain. The project is funded by SDU’s strategic research fund, SDU2020.
The position is within the area of behavioral economics with focus on economic experiments that can enhance our understanding of citizen’s choice behavior in relation to health care consumption and health care financing. The applicant should have knowledge of economic behavioral theory and have experience with conducting and interpreting economic experiments.
Appointment to the position as post.doc. presupposes scientific qualifications documented through a PhD degree in business economics, economics or a similar research area.
Job description
COHERE is a center for health economics hosted at The Department of Business and Economics. The department carries out research within the following areas: Accounting; Applied Microeconomics; Development Economics; Finance; Econometrics; International Trade and Macro; and Management Science.
It is the aim of the department to conduct research of high international standard documented through publications in internationally distinguished journals and presentations at international conferences.

Application, salary, etc. Appointment to the position will be in accordance with the salary agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations.
Research will be predominant in the position. Teaching assignments can be agreed individually. Furthermore, other types of assignments may occur to a limited degree.
The University determines the distribution of the various assignments. The weighting of the different assignments may vary over time.
Upgrading of pedagogical qualifications is not a part of this position. Employment as Postdoc alone will not qualify to appointment as Associate Professor/Senior Researcher.

Assessment of applications will be done under existing Appointment Order for universities. Applications will be assessed by an assessment committee. The committee may request additional information, and if so, it is the responsibility of the applicant to provide the necessary material.
When the assessment committee has submitted its report, the applicant will receive the part of the evaluation that concerns him/her.
Applications that are incomplete with regard to the above requirements will not be assessed by the committee.
