Research and Learning Director- Cross Border Health
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
URC is currently seeking candidates for a USAID Cross Border Health Integrated Partnership program based in Kenya. This five-year project will support sustainable and African-led regional health development partnerships to improve health outcomes among mobile populations and vulnerable communities residing along Eastern, Central and Southern African transport corridors and cross-border sites.
Responsibilities:
The Research and Learning Director will take the lead in research design, implementation, and dissemination activities for the project. This will also include documenting best practices and testing new and innovative approaches to cross border health.
Minimum qualifications:
- Advanced degree in international public health, health systems strengthening, health economics, social science, political science, or other related field
- Minimum seven (7) years of relevant professional experience managing and implementing health sector development research with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Africa experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage staff working in multiple locations
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with communities, civil society, local government representatives and other stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Excellent references.
