General Responsibilities:
ROLE PURPOSE:
Working with the line manager, the post-holder is accountable for supporting the development and execution of the overall business development, marketing and operations strategy for the designated region in conjunction with local and regional teams and EMEAAP and US departments. The post-holder is accountable for the regional P&L, maximising market penetration, profitable transaction volumes and line management of the team.

The post-holder is accountable for the regional P&L, maximising market penetration, profitable transaction volumes and line management of the team.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Works with line manager to develop and manage the implementation of the regional strategy, ensuring successful business growth in both the short and long term.
- Accountable for the regional P&L. Sets, manage and ensure achievement of regional budgets in collaboration with line manager.
- Ensures that a professional, well led and well motivated team is developed/continues to develop and that skills and potential are maximised. In conjunction with line manager, will ensure that roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and clear objectives and priorities are set in line with corporate goals. Will ensure that a ‘delivery to outcome and deadline’ culture is created and maintained within the team.
- Works with line manager, to ensure that an ongoing audit of resources and skills is undertaken and that areas of weakness or defined resource gaps are addressed in a timely manner.
- Identifies and pro-actively courts potential new business partners. Actively facilitates the contractual arrangements, on appropriate commercial terms, between any new partner identified and the US parent company, MoneyGram International Inc. Works with line manager to recruit and take responsibility for managing the ongoing maintenance of key accounts or super-agents, ensuring the profitable transaction growth. Will ensure that global agendas are understood and adhered to.
- Identifies new business opportunities/solutions of mutual benefit to MoneyGram and the Agents. Attends relevant management meetings and provides input into the strategic development of the region.
- Identifies opportunities for ATL and BTL marketing opportunities ensuring product/brand awareness with key business partners and customers is maximized.
- Working with the relevant teams, actively ensure the smooth introduction and marketing of any enhanced or new products.
- Will ensure the timely and efficient set-up/roll-out of new network and the resolution of operational and other problems through the management of key personnel and liaison with the relevant teams.
- Analyses any trends/changes to transaction levels and identifies solutions to capitalise on growth opportunities/minimise a fall in either profit or volume.
- Ensures full business policy compliance with local, regional and international regulations governing MoneyGram's business guidelines.
- Liaison with local central banks and other regulatory agencies on issues related to anti money laundering laws and controls, in conjunction with the Legal Affairs team.
- Participates in events within the region to raise product/brand awareness with key business partners.
SCOPE/CONTEXT:

- Reports to: Regional Director Africa Region
- P&L responsibility.
- Manages a small team.
- Works closely with local and regional teams, other Regional Directors/Function Heads and liaises extensively with EMEAAP departments. Will liaise with US teams as required.
- Territory designation may be subject to change dependant on the needs of the business.
- Extensive travel throughout territory.
- Car and driving license.
- Fluency in English (both written and verbal) is essential.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Degree educated.
- Demonstrated experience of operating at a similar level of seniority - breadth of knowledge/experience at a senior level of operation will have encompassed network development, marketing/sales management, financial and risk analysis. Experience gained within the designation region is essential. Experience gained within a blue chip organisation together with exposure to operating within a fast paced/high growth environment. Experience will have included an international focus. Knowledge/experience gained within retail financial services/money transfer would be highly advantageous.
- Experienced in relationship management - able to demonstrate through past experience, a successful track record of negotiating effective and financially sound contractual relationships; able to deal with complex and sometimes difficult relationships at the highest level.
- Excellent presentational skills - able to give a polished presentation in a variety of formats, informally and formally.
- Strong commercial acumen – able to identify and work with key business partners to maximize business results.
- Solution driven with the willingness and ability to implement innovative ideas and improve working methodologies. Able to breakdown complex issues into simple components and build/implement required action plans.
- Excellent project management skills. Ability to determine key priorities and manage outcomes to timeline.
- Considers and takes into account the impact of own decisions on all aspects of the business.
- Prior team management experience – to include recruitment, development and resolution of any performance issues.
- Prior experience of managing budgets and taking responsibility for P&L. Comfortable with the review and analysis of financial information.
- Able to work with in a matrix reporting environment, build and maintain strong relationships with peers, stakeholders, many of whom will be based remotely.
- Computer literate - able to use Microsoft suite of packages.
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.
