Software Engineer Position
The Role:
1. You will lead the building of a number of productivity tools that range from reporting, workflow management and CMS tools
2. You will help to monitor and maintain online software platform that distributes work across the developing world.
Your responsibilities will include:
Proactively responding to software issues & bugs
Collaborating with different teams on product upkeep & features
Writing clean, elegant, object-oriented software tools
Providing technical & logistical assistance to office staff
Pairing remotely with colleagues in the USDesired Skills:
2+ years’ experience in system administration and/or server-side web programming
Ruby and/or Rails experience
Advanced Javascript
Solid knowledge of SQL (Postgres preferred)
An understanding of web server & service technologies (Apache, Nginx, Heroku, AWS preferred)
Experience with NewRelic or similar server monitoring tools
Familiarity with unix-based command lines
Strong written & spoken English
A passion for helping to alleviate poverty & inequality
