The Trans-Nzoia County Assembly Service Board wishes to invite applications from qualified persons for the following positions:
Chief Sergeant- At –Arms (1 post)

The Chief Serjeant-at-arms is an office in the County Assembly Service charged with duties involving service to the Speaker, Members, the Clerk and other staff of the County Assembly and performance of chamber and ceremonial duties. The Serjeant-at-arms also performs a number of miscellaneous security and safety duties for the general welfare of Assembly.
(a) Duties and Responsibilities
He/she will perform the following:
i. Maintain custody of the Mace;
ii. Ensure protective security for all persons and property and advises the Speaker and the Clerk on the same;
iii. Perform chamber and ceremonial duties;
iv. Provide interdepartmental and chamber support services;
v. Enforce and implement the Speaker’s orders and other directives;
vi. Allocate office accommodation to members (MCAs) abd staff and conference rooms to Committees;
vii. Ensure compliance with occupational health requirements/standards;
viii. Ensure fire prevention and safety of the facilities;
ix. Access control management;
x. Crowd management
xi. Ensure desirable housekeeping standards and maintain decorum
within the precincts of parliament;
xii. Disaster preparedness and mitigation;
xiii. Investigating security incidents;
xiv. Coordinate Assembly police;
xv. Disseminates relevant information to members through notice beards;
xvi. Carries out periodical security surveys;
xvii. Conducts institutional risk assessment.

(b) Requirements for Appointment:
For direct appointment to this grade, a candidate must:
i. Be in possession of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education grade C+;
ii. Have served in the disciplined forces for a period not less than seven (7) years augmented with rank of Inspector and above;
iii. Be computer literate;
iv. Have a certificate in firefighting and first aid;
v. Must possess an exemplarily service certificate;
vi. Possession of a Masters degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
For direct appointment to this grade, a candidate must:
