Business Development Manager, Microinsurance
Reporting to the General Manager, Micro insurance.
The incumbent will be responsible for formulating and implementing sound strategies that lead growth in sales in the Micro insurance business
Key Responsibilities
Own the performance and profitability of the business by monitoring productivity, profitability and loss ratios against set targets
Ensure retention of existing business portfolio
Conduct market intelligence and initiate proactive and reactive business growth and retention initiatives
Evaluate and implement effective processes and procedures to improve customer experience
Effective execution of activities as per set SLA’s with regards to cost, quality and time constraints.
Client and intermediaries relationship management
Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance
Co-ordinate interface with other departments
Provide effective leadership, coaching and mentorship for staff in the department
Provide overall leadership, training and support for Microinsurance products through the single distribution channel
Develop, and deploy, innovative ways to distribute Microinsurance products through a broad range of partnershipsQualifications, Knowledge, Experience
A Business degree or equivalent
Relevant professional training such as ACII, FLMI, CIM, COP
Experience in growing and managing a team to exceed stated sales objectives
Demonstration of a thorough understanding of the dynamics of Microinsurance.
Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work in a team-oriented and collaborative environment;
Ability to work in a fast paced and highly entrepreneurial environment;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
A demonstrated track record of sales dealing with low income sector;
Customer focus and orientation.
