Responsibilities of the role will include:
Management Information per Management Accounting, Performance Analysis and commentary (MAPA) as per Local Global Accounting Accepted Practices
Ensure compliance to statutory laws and regulations, tax, regulatory and banking compliance
Prepare Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for the country
Drive network efficiencies through initiatives with respect to costing techniques and review variances for rate , volume, capex and opex efficiency
Establish Decision support analysis templates by defining and implementing key metrics for revenue and each opex line. Review and approve all pricing/costing initiatives in the business and ensure they drive Optimal business revenues/costs
Drive business support and business decisions in regard to Finance and commercial performance
Review and subsequently modify or update processes where required to keep pace with change in business dynamics
Monitor and supervise the documentation or release of the Management Reporting Procedures Manual for the circle
Define and implement business partnering sessions with respective Functional Directors
Benchmark on commercial practices with other OPCOs and India and work with Airtel Centre of Excellence, Towerco, and Airtel Money teams on all business commercial issues
Identify, monitor and supervise the delivery of the automation projects for Kenya through oracle.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
Bachelors’ degree in accounting or business related field with professional qualification: CPA /ACA / ACCA. MBA qualification is optional
Knowledge of the latest Reporting accounting tools or software and changes in the Accounting Standards applied under Local Global Accepted Accounting Practices
Exposure to an ERP environment
Preferred background being telecom, banking, fast moving consumer goods or service industry
Good inter personal skills that will enable one to build synergies and work with Cross functional teams
Business and commercial acumen
Ability to align strategies and systems to business needs
A good leader with a “can-do” attitude
