Finance Manager Corporate & Institutional Clients & Products

The senior finance manager, Corporate & Institutional Clients (CIC) & Products will join our East Africa finance team based out of Kenya. This is a business facing finance role where you need good financial analysis skills, stakeholder management ability and an understanding of Corporate & Institutional banking business. 

The job will be expected to contribute to the Corporate & Institutional business by providing strong financial insights, support business strategy formulation and implementation and advice to the team members. She/he shall be proactive to anticipate key performance trends. This should be done by building robust financial processes to improve efficiency and most importantly, strengthen discipline and controls. The candidate is expected to track and analyze monthly variances for costs, revenues, balance sheet as well as Risk weighted assets and client level analytics. 

The job will review the monthly, mid-year and year end pipeline financial inputs and data requests. Review should ensure adherence to IFRS and Group accounting policies, Financial controls policy and other regulatory accounting guidelines to ensure strong corporate governance. 

The job also need to ensure quality outputs are produced and submitted for Group Finance and Africa regional office. Play a key role in managing the end to end quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes. 

Key Roles & Responsibilities 

- Actively support business towards strategic planning & performance management 
- Assess, review and advise business regarding pricing strategy, sales performance, 
Cost of funds, GL controls, cost centres, products and segments. 
- Fulfilling all reporting requirements in terms of daily, weekly and monthly reports 
- Produce monthly analysis on the month-end financials. Go beyond the numbers; provide commentary on business insights to support the business-decision process, and performing "what-ifs" scenarios. 
- Ensure timely support for all Group, Regional office and Country Finance submissions 
- Strict control on Costs to ensure predictability of expenses and control on cost centre changes and requirements. 
- Good understanding of Balance Sheet components and drivers and work with business to ensure good balance sheet and liquidity Management practices. 
- Strong knowledge in Funds Transfer Pricing policy and mechanisms 
- Operate with Shared Service Finance, Country Finance and Africa Regional finance to deliver accurate forecasts and budgets including active involvement in the planning, review and challenge process for all the respective business units. 
- Continuous redevelopment of the reporting processes to improve efficiency, maximizing automation to achieve standardization of processes across geographies with a view to release capacity for value add activities. 
- Implement control measures and monitoring plans for compliance and operational risk management. Ensure timely and accurate Key Control Standards (KCS) and Key Controls Self Assessment (KCSA) submissions. 
- Ensure Corporate & institutional operating expense policy and revenue booking principles are complied with. 

Qualifications & Skills 

- Accounting qualification (CA/ CPA or equivalent) with MBA in Financial Management 
- Solid experience in financial & management reporting 
- Strong analytical and communication skills along with an ability to work with senior stakeholders 
- Strong influencing and people management skills 
- Data Conversion and Reporting 
- Controls and Governance awareness and understanding 
- People Soft GL and essbase knowledge would be preferred 
- Strong Microsoft Excel , SQL and Power Point knowledge is essential.
