Internal Audit & Risk Management – Manager

Lake Victoria North Water Services Board was established in March 2004 vide gazette notice No.1714 under the Water Act 2002 as a State Corporation.

The mandate of the Board is to ensure efficient and economical provision of water and sewerage services within its area of jurisdiction.

The Board is looking for self-driven, result oriented, highly motivated and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions within its establishment.

Manager, Internal Audit and Risk Management
Ref: LVNWSB/HQ/WB/3/14

Reports to: CEO and Audit and Risk Management Committee of the Board

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement audit plans and programs
• Carry out independent assessment of the application and compliance with the established corporation policies, procedures and regulations
• Effectively checking control systems and procedures
• Safeguarding the Board against risk of loss
• Prepare audit reports for the CEO and Audit Committee of the Board.
• Provide leadership to audit team

Minimum Qualifications

• A degree from a recognized university in a business related field
• Registered member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya and Institute of Internal Auditors
• Experience and familiarity with computer based accounting and use of computer aided auditing techniques (CAATs)
• Good leadership and analytical skills
• Good team player
• Masters qualification is an added advantage
• Have at least 7 years experience in reputable organisation, 5 of which must have been in a senior management position with audit working experience.

Key Skills and Competencies
Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
