Internal Audit & Risk Management Officer

Lake Victoria North Water Services Board was established in March 2004 vide gazette notice No.1714 under the Water Act 2002 as a State Corporation.

The mandate of the Board is to ensure efficient and economical provision of water and sewerage services within its area of jurisdiction.

The Board is looking for self-driven, result oriented, highly motivated and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions within its establishment.

Internal Audit and Risk Management Officer
Ref: LVNWSB/HQ/WB 4/14

Reports to: Manager, Internal Audit and Risk Management

Key Responsibilities

• Implement audit plans and programs.
• Assist the Internal Auditor in ensuring compliance with established corporation policies, procedures and regulations.
• Audit all payments made by the Board to ensure compliance with budget provisions, policies, and procedures.
• Draft financial audit reports for review by the Internal Auditor

Minimum Qualifications

• A degree from a recognized university in business related field.
• Part qualification in accounting such as CPA II, ACCA Professional Stage II or similar qualification
• Familiarity with computer based accounting and use of computer aided auditing techniques.
• Minimum of 5 years’ audit working experience in a reputable organization preferably a professional audit firm.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications

Key Skills and Competencies

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
