Team Leader - Upcoming DFID / Nike Foundation funded Assets to Adolescent Girls Initiative – Based Kenya

GRM International is looking for a Team Leader to manage an upcoming DFID/NIKE Foundation funded Assets to Adolescent Girls Initiative. The initiative aims to deliver grants and business advisory support to early stage enterprises in developing countries with the goal of ultimately benefiting young girls.
Based in Nairobi, Kenya, the Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing country programmes. Country Managers will be based in the following countries: Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan. The programme will span a length of 5 years.
This is an exciting opportunity for experienced, savvy and results-oriented individuals to manage and implement the overall operations of an exciting and innovative global programme. Both a unique blend of entrepreneurial and technical development expertise is highly desirable; particularly as the role involves the strategic development of programme activities and management of key programme partnerships.
In this role, you will: • Provide strategic development of programme to ensure programme activities deliver on specific goals and ultimately, empowers and benefits young girls; • Provide leadership to drive innovation and sustainability in all aspects of the programme; to ensure current best practices are fully leveraged and disseminated across focus countries; • Provide overall programme management in focus countries with strategic assistance to country staff to ensure smooth implementation of activities as well as timely reporting; • Build and manage key partnerships at the global level, including support to country programmes to identify potential access to finance and support to grantees; • Overall responsibility for meeting programme fundraising objectives with corporate and philanthropic partners; • Develop and manage overall budget and resources including oversight of core staff regarding disbursement of funding and grants; • Oversee core staff to ensure ongoing monitoring and evaluation of programme activities and timely and accurate reporting; • Act as the key focal contact with donors, DFID and Nike; • Act as the official representative for the global programme; attending and presenting at relevant conferences and events when necessary; • Provide overall direction and oversight on strategy, marketing, branding and communications with a broad audience of stakeholders.
You will demonstrate: - Experience in leading and managing donor funded programmes; - Strong background in gender and economic empowerment; - Experience in designing and implementing business models for girls and women inclusion; - Recent experience and established networks in Kenya, Rwanda or Uganda; - Previous experience with Nike Foundation (desirable).
