Videographer/Photographer

by Unknown  |  at  8:49 AM

Background
IFRC uses photographers/videographers during times of disasters/emergencies. Between November 2011 and July 2013, IFRC supported 97 emergency appeals and Disaster Response Emergency Funds (DREFs) in Africa zone, related to food insecurity, drought, epidemics, flooding etc.
It is therefore imperative that photographers /videographers be deployed as soon as a disaster/emergency strikes to gather photos and video to be used for awareness raising, advocacy, and potentially fundraising efforts.
The material gathered during the emergency is shared within IFRC, but also within the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement , and externally with media, donors, governments and other partners for different purposes such as advocacy, fundraising, and awareness raising.
For this reason, the Africa zone communications unit is creating a data bank of qualified photographers/videographers who can be contacted when such emergencies arise.
Those who are interested are requested to submit their CVs detailing their contact details, experience of similar assignments with links to websites or particular areas of published work, technical and language skills, equipment specifications, as well as indicating availability if contacted on short notice. Being listed in the data bank does not warrant a consultant, employment or contract of any kind with IFRC.
