We are seeking candidates for an anticipated USAID-funded Trade and Investment Center Program in East Africa. The program will promote transformational economic growth in East Africa, including through trade and investment, by promoting regional integration and trade; expanding African capacity to effectively access and benefit from global markets; and encouraging U.S. companies to trade with and invest in Africa. We are seeking value chain development specialists who meet the following requirements:
Value Chain Development Specialist
- Master’s degree or equivalent in business administration, marketing, finance, or management;
- 10 years of relevant experience with developing value chains in Africa;
- Experience researching trends in end markets, and supporting firms to meet these end-market requirements
- Contacts with key value chain actors: producers, traders, actors in the supporting markets; and research/policy associations;
- Demonstrated experience achieving increased competitiveness in the developing country context;
- Demonstrated skills to foster inter-firm collaboration and cooperation between associations, donors, and governments;
- Demonstrated experience with promoting cutting edge technologies and methods for increasing firm-level productivity;
- Demonstrated experience helping developing country firms meet the requirements to export goods to the U.S., i.e. apparel manufacturers, with regard to meeting external market demand
