PROJECT MANAGER, MORTGAGE
The Position
Reporting to the Head, Corporate Mortgage Business, this position will be responsible for providing independent, professional and commercial advice on the management of mortgage projects, risk assessment and ensuring aims of the projects are met to completion in order to maximize the Bank’s revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor project construction to ensure compliance with master schedule, budget and contract documents in accordance with duties outlined therein.
- Conduct field inspection/site observations and spot-checks of work in progress for each job site on regular basis as required to ensure compliance to specifications and to keep track of the construction project.
- Review contract documents, architectural drawings and specifications in order to maintain familiarity with projects and ensure that the approved documents are in use/implemented in construction project site.
- Identify, analyze commercial risks and recommend corrective action.
- Carry out studies to estimate materials, time and labor costs.
- Analyze progress of projects, valuing completed work and provide detailed progress report.
- Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
- Provide independent advice on the management of projects.
- Review and evaluate project schedules and prepare reports regarding projects under construction.
- Builds relationships with others to formulate solutions to issues that arise in execution of project.
- Prepare regular status reports/updates for senior management.
The Person
For the above position, the successful applicants should have the following minimum qualifications: -
- A holder of a degree in Bachelor of Quantity Surveying/Bachelor of Arts in Building Economics/Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or equivalent from a recognized university
- Possession of a Master’s degree or relevant professional qualifications and Membership of professional organization e.g. Institute of Quantity Surveyors of Kenya (IQSK)/Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) will be an added advantage.
- Professional qualification in Project Management will be an added advantage
- Have at least 6 years management experience in the construction industry as a construction manager or a senior clerk of works for high value projects and complete, which must be covering ;
- High-volume project management experience.
- On site construction management of commercial projects and residential construction
- Mortgage/Construction Finance.
- Possess sound knowledge of construction and Mortgage industry.
- Should have strong leadership skills with demonstrated competences in championing customer focus.
- Should have excellent high quality interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to network and develop strong business relations
- Ability to independently evaluate alternatives and recommend solutions
- Should also have a good understanding of risks, health and safety and construction standards.
