Director - Change Management and Building Services Markets

About the Organization: 
FSD Africa (FSDA) is a new regional program. It promotes financial inclusion by working with financial institutions (FIs) and markets across Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) to make a transformative impact on the reduction of poverty.
About the Job: 
FSDA is seeking a Director - Change Management and Building Services Markets. S/he will lead a team to bring about change management across 20 financial institutions (FIs) in five years and will also be responsible for strategies for building services markets in three specific areas: executive coaching and strategic HR, e-training and data management, and analytics.
Tasks and Responsibilities: 
  • Identify FI partners and building relationships with their senior leaders;
  • Recruit core team members as program activity grows;
  • Identify consultants/experts who can work with the division on a contractual basis;
  • Manage and administer capacity building grants/investment programs;
  • Develop tools and methodologies around grant/investment origination and management including an Africa-wide capacity building services providers database.
Qualifications: 
  • At least 8 years of experience managing teams of professionals in Africa to deliver multiple change projects/programs;
  • Strong experience in organizational development and/or the management of change;
  • First hand experience of the rigorous project management skills that are needed to ensure large investment projects stay on track and deliver transformative impact;
  • Understanding of and commitment to the delivery of a market building approach;
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence others, and gain commitment at global, regional, and national levels;
  • Demonstrable interest in the role that markets can play in reducing poverty (i.e. socially driven as well as outstanding professional skills);
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to get the best from consultants and achieve rock-solid buy-in from managers at FIs;
  • Demonstrated experience of managing budgets;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risk;
  • Excellent skills in written and spoken English.
