Call for Experts - USAID South Sudan MAGIC Project

CNFA specializes in fostering private sector investments in training, new technologies and marketing as a means to increase the overall competitiveness of agricultural value chains, to expand exports, and to develop skills in the rural workforce. CNFA assists smallholders in increasing household-level food security and nutrition through improved agricultural practices, introduction of new varieties, diversification of crop production, food preservation and storage, development of farmer-based organizations (FBOs) and strengthened linkages to markets.
Project Description:
CNFA is receiving applications of Senior Level Experts to work on the anticipated USAID-funded MAGICproject, operating in South Sudan’s Central, Eastern and Western Equatoria regions. The project will support various agricultural programs in these regions, with specific involvement in Maize, Sorghum, Cassava, and Ground Nuts value chains.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in private sector agricultural development, particularly in increasing agriculture production through improved farming practices and access to inputs; increasing local incomes, encouraging private sector participation and reducing food insecurity.
In particular Experts will:
- Provide technical direction for the program in accordance with project deliverables;
- Maintain strong relationships with home office, partners and collaborators, and any other associated stakeholder;
- Oversee corresponding technical teams;
- Represent CNFA and the project to the public and donor community.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in agriculture and agribusiness is required, experience in private sector work is preferred;
- Experience working on USAID funded projects is preferred;
- Bachelor’s degree in related field is required, Master’s degree is preferred;
- Experience working in South Sudan is highly preferred;
