CNFA specializes in fostering private sector investment as a means to increase the overall competitiveness of agricultural value chains, expand exports and develop skills in the rural workforce. By generating higher incomes for farmers, processors, entrepreneurs and distributors, CNFA helps improve livelihoods and reduce poverty.
CNFA, with a consortium of international and national partners, is currently implementing a five year United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded Agricultural Growth Program-Livestock Market Development Project (AGP-LMD). The Project fosters growth and reduces poverty through improving the productivity and competitiveness of selected livestock value chains: meat/live animals, and dairy. The project operates in AGP targeted Woredas of Oromia, Amhara, Tigray, and SNNPR, to the benefit of thousands of smallholder livestock producers.
AGP-LMD is seeking short and medium term local consultants in the following specialties:
- Business development
- Commercial forage business
- Cooperative business development
- Genetic and animal health
- Dairy marketing
- Livestock marketing
- Commercial credit and investment
- Grants Management
- Agricultural innovations and commercialization
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in livestock and dairy businesses, agricultural economics, animal science or related field with good experience in private sector and agricultural development;
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience;
- Strongly preferred extensive experience in business development and incubations related to livestock and dairy sector;
- Experience working on USAID-funded programs is an added advantage;
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with institutional and private sector partners and stakeholders;
- Excellent writing and communication skills; and
- Ability to use the latest ICT technology and computer software programs.
