TTraining Facilitator for LEGS & Fear and Climate Change Training

The overall objective of the Humanitarian standards in emergency response and climate change training is to strengthen the staff capacities to understand the international standards that surround humanitarian emergency responses and understanding the concept of climate change and how to cope with the changes it brings.
The humanitarian standards that this training will focus on are: LEGS and the SPHERE handbook. LEGS (Livestock Emergency Guidelines and Standards) will provide the training participants with knowledge on the guidelines involved in improving the quality of livelihood-based interventions. The Sphere handbook will equip the participants with internationally recognized sets of common principles and universal minimum standards for the delivery of quality humanitarian response.
After undergoing the training the participants should be able to: 1. Understand LEGS and SPHERE principles and guidelines for disaster/humanitarian shock assessments and appropriate responses; 2. Understand the concept of climate change and the effects it has on livestock and agriculture (communities’ main sources of livelihoods); 3. Prepare an assessment plan and implement a suitable response to a humanitarian shock line with the SPHERE and LEGS standards; 4. Impart this knowledge to the target communities, particularly strategies to cope with climate change.
