Concern Worldwide has since 2012 embarked on a policy reform aimed at bringing the complementary schools into the formal education system. MOEST with support from Concern Worldwide has developed draft guidelines to facilitate registration of complementary schools. The proposed guidelines seek to exempt these schools from the rigorous requirement that public and private schools are subjected to. The Consultant will therefore edit and proof read APBET guidelines specifically with regard to language, flow and overall readability as well as correcting grammar and spelling.
Expected Outputs/Deliverables:An edited and proofread APBET registration guidelines
Remuneration:The remuneration will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s experience and the prevailing market rate. . The final payment will be made upon satisfactory submission of all the aforementioned deliverables.
Working Conditions:The Consultant will report to the Programme Manager - Education and HIV, liaise with the Programme Manager-Advocacy and Governance and the Assistant Programme Manager-Education
Consultant’s Profile or Qualifications:
Degree in grammar/education or law. Masters level is an advantage
Minimum four (4) years’ experience in editing policy or legal documents.
Experience working with humanitarian organisations is an added advantage.
Excellent English editing, proof reading and writing skills
Strong organizational, interpersonal skills, able to communicate and work with diverse people
Ability to be flexible and respond to changes to text as part of the review and
