Job Purpose:
The incumbent will provide leadership in the formulation and implementation of PAC University ICT strategy and the development of information technology and telecommunication systems; management of ICT security and Coordination of E-learning.
The incumbent will provide leadership in the formulation and implementation of PAC University ICT strategy and the development of information technology and telecommunication systems; management of ICT security and Coordination of E-learning.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Coordinate e-learning for the University and teach some ICT courses;
- Supervise all staff in the ICT Department;
- Develop and implement ICT objectives, strategies and operational plans in relation to PAC University strategic Plan;
- Develop service delivery strategies and design ICT solutions;
- Develop and Implement a service policy and develop appropriate performance indicators;
- Re-assess and re-define the organization-wide standards in hardware, software, and ICT services;
- Provide technical, functional and organizational guidance and support to projects;
- Monitor and coordinate the implementation and adherence to ICT policies, procedures and standards;
- Plan and direct the implementation and operation of the common ICT Infrastructure;
- Guide the assessment of PAC University challenges in relation to the new technologies;
- Advise on ICT staff recruitment and develop the capacity of ICT staff;
- Prepare and manage the annual ICT budget;
- Advise the management on effective and strategic use of ICT and related cost reduction opportunities;
- Prepare ad hoc, quarterly and annual reports on all ICT activities and projects;
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Education, Experience, Skills and Competencies:
- Must possess a Master’s degree in ICT with a strong undergraduate foundation on the same;
- Should have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience, preferably in a University context. Prior teaching experience at the University level will be an added advantage;
- Demonstrate understanding of global trends In ICT with wide knowledge and experience In driving IT enabled change;
- Demonstrate experience in the management, control and support of ICT services and a track record in developing ICT solutions;
- Demonstrate expertise and experience of supporting technical infrastructure, and in managing and Implementing Information systems and supporting technologies;
- Have strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills;
- Possess strong negotiation, facilitation and influencing skills;
- Have capability to communicate ideas and technical information to a non-technical audience;
- At least two years’ experience maintaining a large 500+ node site;
- Must show understanding and willingness to adhere to the PAC University Statement of Faith.
