Under the direct supervision of the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (Head of unit), in close collaboration with the Assistant FAOR Programme Development and programme officers both at Nairobi and field offices, theMonitoring and Evaluation Assistant will assist in implementation of FAO Kenya M&E system with particular focus on data collection, analysis and reporting aimed at ensuring consistent performance management of the FAO Kenya’s Country Programming Framework (CPF). In particular, the incumbent will :
· Provide M&E technical Support to field offices especially on process monitoring for all the ongoing projects
· Support the roll out and continuous implementation of outcome monitoring
· Supervise data collection processes carried out by enumerators during surveys and reviews;
· In consultation with the M & E officer (Head of unit), carry out data analysis and prepare monitoring reports highlighting areas and or issues for programme units and management attention
· Ensure all partner reports , evaluation reports , monitoring reports and study reports are received and collated in the M&E information system
· Support the review all partner Project reports for quality assurance before recommendation for payment
· Work closely with the programme units to ensure all LOA’s are accompanied with clear reporting tools for partners
· Support in formulation and updating monitoring tools and guidelines as guided by the M&E Officer (Head of unit)
· Support all M&E related training and attend M&E relevant meetings as and when requiredPerform any other duties as required
· A degree in Social Science, Project Management, Development Studies or statistics . A Masters degree will be an added advantage
· A minimum of three years progressively responsible work experience including at least one years in Information systems management, project monitoring and evaluation, data analysis and or report writing.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential. Ability to write correctly in English and to communicate matters orally and in writing. Able to maintain accurate/precise records, to perform detailed work and to handle a large volume of work quickly and accurately under time constraints. Able to work independently with minimum of supervision. Courtesy, tact and the ability to work effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
