Human Resources Assistant

AWF is seeking a highly motivated professional to assist with day-to-day administration of the human resources functions.
The Human Resources Assistant will participate some or all of the following functional areas: benefits management, contract management, database/filing management and policy management. This is atemporary three month assignment and will be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Responsibilities
  • Compile the lists of the organizations HR vendors
  •  Update all staff  contractual benefits including home leave, allowances etc
  • Assist in updating and maintaining a detailed benefits schedule for all AWF offices.
  • Scan and file all employee contracts and other contractual information as needed
  • File hard copies per established formats for the respective employee
  • Update information on the Human Resources Information System as necessary
  • Ensure that all electronic and physical files are complete and correctly filed
  • Sort or classify information according to guidelines such as content, purpose, user criteria, or chronological, alphabetical, or numerical order
  • Ensure documents are adequately stored, accessible and safely kept
  • Provide administrative support to the HR department on a daily basis

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field; Human Resources, Business Administration, International Business, International Relations. Recent masters graduates in any business discipline are encouraged to apply
  • 1-2 years progressive experience in a non-profit organization and/or busy human resources department
  • Proven experience in an international context
  • Previous experience in database management
  • Excellent organizational skills and able to multitask in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to provide good customer service with patience and a sense of urgency
  • Professional, diplomatic and thoughtful communication skills.
  • Strong Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with HRIS systems or able to learn
  • French fluencyan advantage
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with the highest level of professional
  • Strong problem-solving skills
