Main Objective:
The Assistant Administrative Officer will execute financial, administrative, legal, logistics, procurement related tasks including documentations under supervision of Programme Coordinator. He/She will also take part of research and planning of peace education for future projects.

Reporting to:Programme Coordinator
Specific duties:
- Take part of bookkeeping and prepare monthly financial reports to Nairobi Office.
- File the financial documents including receipt, invoice, quotation and delivery slip
- Process the payment to suppliers and keep strict on all documentation involved, informing Program Coordinator of any sort of disparity.
- Handle petty cash
- Prepare procurement documents including local purchase orders and contracts.
- Arrange logistics and procurement of goods.
- General affair works such as office maintenance, inventory and communication.
- Liaise with stakeholders including UNHCR and other international and national NGOs
- Perform other duties as requested by Programme Coordinator or Country Director.
Essential requirement:
- At least three years of professional experience in relevant fields.
- University degree in finance, business, administration, education, peace studies or development studies is preferred.
- Good operational knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Proficient in spoken and written English and Kiswahili
- Strong interest in Peace Education activity.
- Strong motivation to be a part of an humanitarian aid organization.
Knowledge and skills:
- Experience working with international NGO is an advantage
- Strong co-ordination and negotiation skills with stakeholders and problem solving skills
- Culturally sensitive and high level of diplomacy and tact
- Security awareness and management relevant to sensitive security environment
- Ability to work both independently and and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and report writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
- Willingness to travel within the countryThis position is under the salary scale for national staff members.
