Partnership Fund Director, East Africa, Nairobi

We are currently seeking a Partnership Fund Director for the anticipated USAID-funded East Africa Trade Hub Program. The project?s primary focus will be to provide expert technical assistance to help farmers and firms, through private sector associations, to efficiently meet market requirements of quality and volume and succeed in the international market place. To achieve this objective, technical components will include improving the enabling environment for regional trade; enhancing the integration and competitiveness of regional value chains; and increasing international and regional trade.
Partnership Fund Director responsibilities for this program include but are not limited to the following:
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement program?s investment fund strategy in consortium with operations and technical teams.
  • Thru consultation with program staff and stakeholders identify and prioritize investment opportunities thru socio and economic yield analysis.
  • Develop investment fund communication and monitoring strategy.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master?s degree or equivalent in management, business administration, or related area strongly preferred
  • At least ten years of relevant experience, five of which should be in developing countries, preferably in Africa.
  • At least five years of experience managing and directing funds or facilities comparable to the Partnership Fund is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing such a fund under a program of similar size is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability in preparing the guidelines, carrying out advertising campaigns, and managing the operations of such a fund.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize, articulate, and explain the vision and purposes of the Partnership Fund.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with institutional and private sector partners and stakeholders in a multi-country setting.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to use the latest ICT technology and computer software programs, including for tracking and reporting on the grants and subcontracts of the Fund.
  • Fluent in English.
