Leonard Cheshire Disability is currently recruiting for a visionary Regional Representative to join its regional office based in Nairobi, Kenya.
It is an exciting time for Leonard Cheshire Disability. The international community is waking up to the fact that the goals of ending poverty and sustainable development cannot be achieved without including persons with disability. This role is critical to leading the strategic development and implementation of Leonard Cheshire Disability’s (LCD’s) work and further LCD’s objectives to positively impact on the lives of disabled people in Africa. This will be done through effectively managing partnerships, fundraising, employees, programmes and risk. The role will also lead on promoting the work of LCD and inclusive development to key stakeholders including governments, policy makers, donors and partners and lead on influencing initiatives with key actors in Africa.
Leonard Cheshire Disability's International Department runs education and livelihoods projects, campaigns globally for the rights of persons with disabilities and carries out research at the Disability and Inclusive Development Centre at University College London. The Head Office is in London, and projects are managed by several offices across Africa and Asia, and delivered by a deeply rooted network of over 200 partner organisations in 54 countries across Africa and Asia. You will be a visionary and strategic leader, with extensive expertise in developing and implementing international development programmes in a number of countries and contexts across Africa; of analysing and responding to external trends in the sector, managing complex partnerships and strong leadership and staff management skills.
You will have extensive expertise in leading on fundraising, including seeking and securing new donors, successful grants acquisition of significant size, management of large and complex grants.
