Carrefour has become the most dynamic, fast-moving and exciting hypermarket chain in the region and shared its growth with more than 21,000 employees from more than 68 nationalities in 12 countries, providing shoppers with variety and value-for-money.
They are venturing into the Kenyan market with a similar initiative and are seeking to recruit a high caliber, results-oriented and self-driven Human Resource Manager to join their team in the capacity below.
The ideal candidate should have worked abroad preferably in a similar capacity.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
Maintains a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
Maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends.
Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings.
Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
Maintains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system; keeping past and current records.
Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Maintains staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
Qualification and Experience
The Candidate should have a Degree in Human Resource from a Recognized University.
Masters Degree will be an added advantage
Minimum 5 years experience in a similar field preferably in Retail
Excellent Communication skills in English.
Local language is an absolute preference.
IT Savvy with good hand on experience in MS- Excel, PowerPoint and Access
Outstanding organization and planning skills.
Self driven with high level of integrity and professionalism.
Good Interpersonal skills and an eye for smart observation.
