Action Africa Help International (AAH-I) is recruiting a Project Manager for the Somalia Country Programme. The Project Manager, El Wak, is responsible for ensuring effective management and delivery of all AAH-I projects within El Wak District, Gedo Region, South Central Somalia, including preparation of donor and client reports.

Action Africa Help International (AAH-I) is an African-led, regional organisation, working in East and Southern Africa to improve the lives of livelihood-challenged communities. AAH-I has country programmes in Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Uganda, and Zambia. It brings over 20 years’ experience working with communities in conflict and post-conflict situations, including refugees, internally displaced people and host communities. More recently, it has expanded its activities to work with other marginalised communities, including pastoralist communities and communities in urban slums.
The Project Manager, El Wak, will report to the Area Manager for South Central Somalia and will be a member of AAH-I’s Somalia Country Programme. S/he will manage the Project Officer and Assistant Project Officer. S/he will work closely with the Country Finance Manager and Project Accountant. The post is based in El Wak.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential
· A Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., Project Management, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Agriculture, Health Promotion/Education or Public Health)
· At least 5 years’ of progressively responsible project experience with at least 2 years’ experience in a similar position
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages including Microsoft Word and Excel
· Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
· Good spoken Somali and spoken and written English
· A strong understanding of the socio-cultural and political context in El Wak and South Central Somalia
· Able to operate effectively and to gain trust in politically sensitive environments

· Committed to AAH-I’s vision, mission, and values.
Desirable
· A Masters Degree or Equivalent in a relevant field
· Experience in developing funding applications.
· Experience in development of success stories
· Experience in use of Social Media to communicate project/programme work.
· Understanding of the humanitarian sector.
