About the role
This post-holder will:
- Be a member of the Regional Humanitarian team, the Save the Children Humanitarian Technical Working Group (HTWG) and the SCUK humanitarian health team and will play a crucial role in coordinating and working closely with other SCI Member technical staff in Kenya and SCI Regional Office staff in East Africa.
- Work collaboratively with regional and head office health advisors from SCUK, and other Save the Children members, ensuring that our emergency response work, preparedness and capacity building links closely with our longer term development and chronic humanitarian health programming to ensure a “full spectrum” approach to our health programming that will impact on the quality of humanitarian programme delivery.
- Be responsible for ensuring that health programmes in humanitarian contexts are delivering quality interventions by being supported with quality technical inputs and to drive the Public Health on the Front Line strategy.
- Manage a team of Emergency Response Personnel (Health Response team)
About you
As a doctor, nurse or holder of MPH, you will have substantive and progressive experience on the field as well as head office in the implementation and management of humanitarian health programmes. You have excellent all-round communication skills and have proven experience in developing successful proposals for major donors, strategy and technical guidance including on HIV programmes including PMTCT in emergency context. In your previous tenure, you have mentored, managed, led staff including and facilitated capacity building training. You are familiar with the cluster and other coordination mechanisms at country, regional and global level. English and Kiswahili are essential.
