Reporting to the Director - Marketing, the role holder will develop and grow the brand assets and sponsorship strategy aligned to business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Safaricom Brand assets to communicate and resonate with targeted segments.
- Lead the teams that organize Safaricom publicity events and the Michael Joseph Centre.
- Liaise with other departments, event organizers and other 3rd party suppliers to enhance and sustain consistency and quality of the company’s’ corporate image during all brand activities and events
- Manage & Grow the Brand Assets portfolio to protect and grow Safaricom’s brand equity
- Manage and drive conformity of the brand with the published guidelines and defined brand architecture.
- Identify, develop and implement strategic, sound, actionable and targeted brand asset business plans that concurrently build brand resonance and equity within our segments
- Lead and drive industry optimization and innovation in brand assets/brand asset channels used within Safaricom
- Provide required leadership in the organization and execution of Safaricom events (Internal & External)
- People and performance Management - Monitoring departmental staff performance and manage the selection, growth, development and motivation of staff within your team and the different agencies that interact with Safaricom
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and competencies
- A Bachelor’s degree in marketing or Business Administration.
- 8-10 years experience in end to end event management in a blue chip company
- Strong creative and conceptual skills.
- Strong network of contacts to ensure strategic partnerships are spot on
- Attention to detail with excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- An excellent planner and organizer, Project Management skills will be an added advantage
- A team player with attention to detail; Keen ability to deliver to specifications and in a timely manner
- A highly energetic and motivated tech savvy PR professional with the ability to successfully liaise, communicate effectively , influence and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders
- Resilient with the ability to represent and maintain a principled position in a sensitive situation
- High emotional and cultural intelligence
- High integrity and must be above reproach
- Good organizational skills, proactive and self-driven
- Have a positive approach to ensuring complete customer satisfaction;
