Kirinyaga University College (KyUC) was established by Legal Order No.108 ofAugust, 2011 as a constituent college of Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
The University College aims at becominga world class university in training, research, technology and innovation for development.
The University is strategically located next to Kirinyaga County Headquarters and is serviced by tarmac road from all directions.
The University College invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons with excellent academic credentials to fill the following positions in the School of Health Sciences:
A. Academic Positions
1. Adjunct Lecturer in Nursing Science - Grade 12
1 Position

Minimum requirements:
The applicants must;
Be Holders of PhD degree or equivalent in Nursing Science in any of the following disciplines; Midwifery, General Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Nursing Education, Leadership & Management and Research
Be registered with Nursing Council of Kenya;
Have at least four (4) years teaching experience at university level;
Have four (4) equivalent publication points.
Applicants with MSc degree in Nursing Science in above disciplines with five (5) years teaching experience at University level may apply.
2. Lecturer (Nursing Science) - Grade 12

Minimum requirements:
The applicants must;
Be holders of PhD degree or equivalent in Nursing Science in any of the following disciplines; Midwifery, General Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Nursing Education, Leadership & Management and Research
Be registered with Nursing Council of Kenya;
Have a current practice license from Nursing Council of Kenya;
Have at least four (4) years teaching experience at university level;
Have four (4) equivalent publication points.
Applicants with MSc degree in the relevant field from an accredited and recognized university with at least five (5) years teaching experience at university level may apply.
3. Lecturer (Clinical Medicine) - Grade 12

Minimum requirements:
The applicants must;
Be holders of PhD degree or equivalent in respective disciplines of Clinical medicine
Must be registered with Clinical Officers Council of Kenya with a valid Practice Licence.
Have at least four (4) years teaching experience at university level;
Have four (4) equivalent publication points.
Holders of MSc degree in respective disciplines of Clinical medicine with three (3) years relevant teaching experience at University level may apply.
4. Tutorial Fellow (Nursing Science) - Grade 11
2 Positions

The applicants must;
Have M.Sc. Degree in Nursing in any of the following disciplines;
Midwifery, General Nursing, Community Heath Nursing, Nursing Education, Leadership & Management and Research;
Have three (3) years post qualification work experience;
Be registered for Ph.D;
Be registered with Nursing Council of Kenya.
5. Tutorial Fellow ( Clinical Medicine) - Grade 11
2 Positions

The applicants must;
Be holders of Master Degree in Clinical Medicine in respective disciplines of Clinical Medicine;
Have three (3) years post qualification work experience;
Be registered for a Ph.D ;
Must be registered with Clinical Officers Council of Kenya with a valid Practice License.
B. Non - Academic Positions
1. Technologist - Grade 8

Be holders of Bachelor of Science Degree/Higher National Diploma in Biological Sciences or equivalent degree from a recognized institution;
Have successfully worked as a technician for at least three (3) years at a recognized University, Research Institution or Hospital;
Be computer literate.
2. Technician
Grade 5

Applicants must;
Have a Diploma in Biological Sciences from a recognized institution;
Have KCSE mean grade C (plain) and above;
At least three (3) years work experience in an institution of higher learning;
Be computer literate.
3. Skills - Lab Attendant
Grade 5
1 Position

Requirements:
Applicants must;
Have diploma in Community Health Nursing or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
Have at least three (3) years clinical experience in any of the following areas;
Midwifery, Medical-Surgical, Critical Care Nursing, Pediatrics Nursing, Psychiatry/Mental Health Nursing Or Community Health Nursing;
Be registered and hold a valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya;
Show evidence of attendance of short courses in various medical fields since qualification;
Have KCSE mean grade c (plain) and above;
Have knowledge of relevant computer packages.
In addition, the applicants will be required to have undertaken skills lab training.
Terms and conditions of service
Successful candidates will be offered a competitive remuneration package
Employment will be on permanent and pensionable terms except for Adjunct and Tutorial Fellow positions who will be engaged on contract terms.
Those with degrees from foreign universities should attach certificates of equation and recognition of qualifications from Commission for University Education.
