The Role
The CFO is the financial steward of Ipsos’ business in Kenya
The CFO will be responsible for leading all financial aspects of the business including controlling, accounting, cash, cost optimization, budgeting, forecasting and reporting, and the profitable growth and improvement of the business.
The CFO will be required to lead the development and implementation of financial planning and budgeting in support of the company’s strategic goals and budgets. He/she will ensure that the company’s financial statements are accurate and timely, and in compliance with Ipsos Group policies. He/she will be responsible for accounting, controlling, financial planning and business analysis, treasury matters, maintaining good relationships with banking institutions, the company’s auditors, the required tax authorities, and other members of the financial community within the Group.
A specific short term objective is to entrench the use of our financial control and accounting system, known internally as Symphony. This is a major reengineering task that will require a proactive, flexible and assertive approach, a strong character, and an ability to work across the entire business both in Kenya and in the wider Ipsos group.
The CFO will report jointly to the CFO, Pan Africa and to the Managing Director of the Ipsos Kenya business.
This is not a maintenance role. It is a challenging role in a company with aggressive growth targets. The successful candidate will be able to “hit the ground running”, and will be a strong team-player. Success will lead to further opportunities within the Ipsos Group.
Required Knowledge and qualifications
Relevant University Degree
Relevant Accounting qualification
A track record of high achievement in a complex, matrix international environment
At least 6 years relevant management experience
Resilient and tough with a strong character. Able to act on own initiative within set guidelines
Strong communicator and team player
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead, motivate & develop people
Negotiation skills & the ability to influence at all levels
Well developed analytical skills
Adaptability and flexibility in service delivery
References will be sought and the preferred candidate will undertake further interviews at Group level including with the Group CFO.
